The Four Bungalows Gurudwara Sahib, located in Andheri West, Mumbai, has once again exemplified the true spirit of seva by extending large-scale relief and rehabilitation aid to flood-affected districts of Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, and Ajnala in Punjab.
Under the able leadership of President Sardar Jaspal Singh Suri and Maninder Singh Suri, the Gurudwara committee and volunteers carried out a comprehensive humanitarian campaign to support families devastated by the floods.
The Gurudwara distributed essential relief kits, food, medicines, and arranged boats for evacuation and safe transport in submerged areas. Fodder was supplied for livestock to help farmers sustain their animals during the crisis.
Once the floodwaters receded, the Gurudwara’s efforts shifted toward helping people rebuild their lives.
In Dubbar village (Ajnala), the Gurudwara sponsored the entire cost of wheat crop cultivation across 75 acres of farmland, benefiting primarily SC and low-income farmers.
In Harar Kalan (Amritsar district), the Gurudwara adopted the entire village, taking responsibility for 125 acres of farmland, including seeds, fertilizers, and diesel for the next crop cycle.
In Ferozepur, when a farmer attempted to take his life after losing his cattle, Mr. Suri personally visited him at the hospital, counseled him, and extended ₹1.30 lakh in financial aid to help him restart his livelihood.
The Gurudwara also sponsored the weddings of three farmers’ daughters whose families had lost everything to the floods and undertook construction of new houses for those whose homes were destroyed.
Relief camps were supplied with 200 beds, and fogging machines were deployed to combat mosquito infestation and health hazards in the affected regions.
In total, the Four Bungalows Gurudwara Sahib extended aid worth nearly ₹50 lakh, reaching the most affected areas of Punjab’s Majha region – from Ferozepur to Tarn Taran, Amritsar, and Kapurthala.
President Sardar Jaspal Singh Suri expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated team, the sangat, and volunteers who made this massive relief initiative possible.
“This was not just about providing relief – it was about restoring dignity, hope, and livelihood to the affected families. I am deeply grateful to every volunteer and member of the Sangat who stood by this mission of Seva,” said Mr. Suri.
He especially acknowledged the contributions of Mohan Baggad, Jagpal Singh Sandhu, Gurdit Singh, Sukhjinderpal Singh, Sunny Singh, Abhishek Pratap, and Yashpal Singh for their relentless service. (Flood Relief)
