Chandigarh, March 24, 2026: The Indian National Portage Association (INPA) organized its 13th Annual Function featuring an Assessment, Counselling & Therapy (ACT) Exhibition and Cultural Programme on March 24, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Dr. P. N. Chhuttani Memorial IMA Complex, Sector 35B, Chandigarh.

The event, centered around the theme “Breaking Barriers, Building Bonds,” aims to promote awareness, inclusion, and holistic development of children, especially those with special needs. It brought together educators, healthcare professionals, parents, and community leaders to celebrate achievements and foster collaboration.

The programme was graced by distinguished Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Ravneet Kaur, Director Principal, GMCH Sector 32, Chandigarh. The program was presided over by Sh. A.K. Kundra (IAS Retd.) who outlined the remarkable journey of INPA spanning over 46 years –  INPA has been a pioneering force in advocating for children with special needs and their families. Through sustained efforts in assessment, therapy, counselling, and parent empowerment, the organization has positively impacted countless lives across the region. Under the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Tehal Kohli, Founder President, INPA has grown into a respected platform known for its commitment to inclusion, early intervention, and community-driven support systems. Her dedication and lifelong service have played a crucial role in shaping awareness and strengthening support frameworks for children with diverse needs.

Eminent Guests of Honour include leaders from industry, healthcare, education, and social sectors, reflecting the multi-disciplinary support for INPA’s mission. Some dignitaries present included Brig. Keshav Chandra (Retd) (Director SOSVA), Sh. S.C. Agarwal (President Chandigarh Senior Citizens Association), Sh. D.S. Grewal Former President CSCA), Mrs Punam Malik (Nodal Office, Red Cross), CA Mastan Singh Chambyal (Former Chiarman ICAI)

The event commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by welcome addresses and cultural performances by students and partner institutions like SOREM, Bhavan Vidhyalaya, Shivalik School. Highlights of the cultural programme include Haryanvi and Punjabi dance performances, solo and group acts, instrumental music, and insightful talks on the subconscious mind, counselling, and assessment practices.

A special segment titled “21 Disabilities by All Special Children” showcased the resilience and abilities of special children, reinforcing the message of inclusivity and empowerment.

The function also featured the distribution of mementos and certificates to honour contributors, donors, and volunteers who have supported INPA’s initiatives. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and the national anthem, followed by refreshments.

Speaking on the occasion, the organizers emphasized that the annual function is not just a celebration but a platform to highlight the importance of early intervention, therapy, and community support in shaping the lives of children.
